The Scout

Structure, operation, maintenance, and storage of the Scout thermal optic. Read this manual carefully before use and keep it for reference. Functions and screen layouts may change with firmware updates.

Safety Precautions
  • Before installing, removing, or adjusting the optic, make sure it is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction.
  • Operate and store the optic only within the specified temperature ranges. Protect it from excessive dust, moisture, and corrosive gases.
  • Do not point the objective lens directly at intense radiation sources such as the sun, laser beams, or welding arcs.
  • Do not disassemble or modify the optic. Unauthorized changes may damage it.
Cleaning
  • Non-optical surfaces: wipe with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
  • Optical surfaces: do not touch the lens with your fingers. Remove dust with an air blower or soft lens brush. If needed, clean gently with lens tissue lightly moistened with optical lens cleaning solution. Do not use abrasives or apply pressure.
